B i o g r a p h y
Juliana Witt is a New York-based musician who specializes in collaborative piano. She is currently a Kenan Fellow at Lincoln Center Education as well as performing and teaching in the city. She formerly studied with Allison Gagnon at University of North Carolina School of the Arts in a Professional Artist Certificate program. She also holds multiple degrees in Piano Performance and Collaborative Piano from Washington State University and Bob Jones University. She has studied with Dr. Karen Savage, Dr. Jeffrey Savage, Dr. Kenon Renfrow, and David Lehman.
She is a current member of Trio Dionysus, who just made their european debut in May. Their passion is performing modern transcriptions and unconventional compositions for a new genre of ensemble. She also tours as a member of The Aster Duo.
She enjoys sharing music with the local community and has done a number of concerts in local venues to keep classical music accessible. Her most recent project was directing the Thomasville Community Music Series, which involved a partnershop between an arts school and the local public high school. Her performing and coaching experience encompasses musical theatre, opera, jazz ensembles, duos, university bands and chamber groups. Juliana also serves as organist for Memorial Methodist Church in Thomasville, NC.
